INDIGENOUS ANIMATORS (OR ILLUSTRATOR/ANIMATOR DUOS) WANTED FOR SHORT FILM SERIES

COMPANY: Build Films

DEADLINE: May 24th, 2019

APPLICATION: Please email CV and portfolio examples to contact@buildfilms.ca

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Paid contract for two terms

Term 1: June 2019
Term 2: Late 2019 - Early 2020

JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a First Nations, Inuit or Metis animator? Emerging or established? Do you want to take part in a national-scale project on Indigenous health? We want to work with YOU on a FIVE-part animated series about the Indigenous experience in healthcare in Canada.

Each film in the series focuses on a different stage of life - from birth to death - and is told through first-person accounts from five different people. We’re looking for talented, creative people who have a distinct style and want to bring these stories to life.

Successful applicants will be required to create detailed storyboarded concepts and deliver on the original artwork and video files. Animators will need to create the characters and environments of each of the stories in 2D visuals that seamlessly bookend between a video intro and outro. The project consists of five thematically consistent short animated films (~ 3-minutes each) that are consumable independently, but also can be presented as an integrated 15-minute short. The final product will be distributed online, and through traditional media.
